The Cody Cubs were back in action over the weekend as they traveled to Riverton for a double header.
In game 1, Jackson Schroeder took to the hill for his first start of the season and pitched a gem: throwing 5 innings of 3 hit ball and struck out 11. Ben Reinker hit a 2-RBI single in the 8th and the Cubs won game 1 in extras by a final score of 6-3.
Schroeder would also get the bat going in game 1, finishing 1-3 at the plate with a Home Run (his first of the season) 2 RBI’s and 2 runs scored.
Riverton would tie the game up at 3 a piece in the bottom of the 6th but in the end Cody prevailed.

Game 2 was a back-and-forth affair with Cody scoring at least 1 run in every single inning. Riverton would scored 5 in the bottom of the second to take a 6-3 lead but from that point on it was all the Cubs. Cody outscored Riverton 18-2 over the final 5 innings.
Phillips connected on his first home run of the season in the 4th inning. Schroeder hit his second home run of the day in the 7th.
