THE CODY CUBS CONCLUDED A STRETCH OF FIVE GAMES IN THREE GAMES PLAYED ON SUNDAY. THE CUBS WOULD GO 1-5 OVER THE WEEKEND DROPPING TWO CONTESTS TO THE SHERIDAN TROOPERS AND BELGRADE BANDITS. THE CUBS WOULD PICK UP THE LONE WIN SATURDAY VS. THE BILLINGS HALOS.
FRIDAY NIGHT THE CUBS GOT THINGS GOING AGAINST SHERIDAN LOSING IN THE FIRST GAME OF THE DOUBLE HEADER 11-2 AND FELL IN THE SECOND GAME OF THE DOUBLE HEADER 4-3.
ON SATURDAY IT WAS JUST A SINGLE GAME FOR THE CUBS HOSTING THE HALOS OF BILLINGS. AFTER DROPPING IN 10 FIRST INNING RUNS THE CUBS AND HALOS HAD TO DEAL WITH AN HOUR LONG RAIN DELAY. THAT DID NOT SLOW DOWN THE HOT HITTING AS THE TWO TEAMS COMBINED FOR 34 RUNS WITH THE CUBS COMING AWAY VICTORIOUS 21-13.
ON SUNDAY THE BELGRADE BANDITS CAME INTO TOWN AND THE CUBS LED THE FIRST GAME 11-7 HEADING INTO THE 7TH INNING AND THE BANDITS USED A 5-RUN 7TH INNING CAPPED OFF BY AN ALEX CASES 3-RUN HOMER. BELGRADE HUNG ON FOR THE 12-11 WIN.
IN THE SECOND GAME OF THE DAY BETWEEN BELGRADE AND CODY, THE BANDITS LED 12-8 HEADING INTO THE BOTTOM OF THE 7TH INNING AND TRISTAN BLATT GAVE THE CUBS LIFE WITH A BASES CLEARING 2-OUT TRIPLE TO CUT THE LEAD TO JUST ONE BUT IT WAS NOT ENOUGH AS BELGRADE HUNG ON TO WIN, AGAIN, 12-11.
FOLLOWING THE WEEKENDS GAMES THE CUBS CURRENTLY SIT AT 2-5 ON THE SEASON AND UP NEXT THEY HOST LOVELL FOR A DOUBLE HEADER WEDNESDAY WITH FIRST PITCH SCHEDULED FOR 5PM.
