Written by on July 23, 2018

A philanthropist who made his name in the banking industry and left an indelible mark on Cody has passed away.
Victor J. Riley, who founded KeyCorp and expanded the Key Bank franchise into Wyoming and the west, died on Saturday. He and his family had resided on the South Fork at the Golden Key Ranch outside of Cody.
Riley was instrumental in bringing the Boys and Girls Club franchise to Park County in 1998, and along with many other philanthropic acts, most notably donated his funding and his name to the Victor J. Riley Ice Arena, which was built in 2001.
