Cody Prime Location for Economic Development

Economic development in Cody is alive and well, and going strong.
That’s according to James Klessens, Executive Director of Forward Cody, who says that this month there has been an increase in the number of businesses looking at Cody as a place to either start up or relocate their operations. Klessens attributes this interest to the business-friendly climate in this state, and the recent change in our federal administration.
Klessens says that Wyoming’s tax climate is relatively stable compared to the rest of the nation, largely due to the fact that the legislature didn’t increase taxes this year despite the financial situation in the state. Additionally, Wyoming is per capita the second lowest-taxed state in the nation – and these factors are attractive to business owners.
Klessens quoted a statistic that notes that over 80% of millennials consider quality of life to be the most important driving factor in choosing their career – all of which makes Cody a desirable place to do business.
