Cody Ranked Best Place to Live in Wyoming by Travel Website

Touropia cites Cody’s charm, cost of living, and excellent schools as its rationale for naming Cody as the best place to make a living in Wyoming.

The travel and tourism website Touropia published its list of the “12 Best Cities in Wyoming to Live and Visit” on April 19, 2022. Rather than focus on each location’s size and scenery, the list examines each based on numerous practical factors.

“The state boasts some of the best scenery in the US,” the article read, “but its many charming cities and small towns ensure Wyoming is also a great place to live and start a family. Many of the towns on our list boast great education, and the enveloping nature provides all residents with an active, outdoor lifestyle.”

Wyoming’s “cities” offer excellent employment and similar amenities to large cities without “the bustle.” Furthermore, the increase in remote workers makes life in any Wyoming community easier.

The charm of Cody is the icing on the whole cake, according to Touropia, as the community offers everything a family needs and looks for in a hometown.

A gateway town to Yellowstone National Park, Cody, is a historic town surrounded by natural splendor. Cody was named after the infamous Buffalo Bill, aka William Cody, with a thrilling stampede event now named after him.

Along the central streets you’ll find Old West-style shop fronts and saloons providing a glimpse into the past. But the architecture is just one part of Cody’s charm. For residents, they get to enjoy an excellent school system, lower on average cost of living, with the average price of a single-family home well below the national average.

Yellowstone is an exciting destination, but Buffalo Bill State Park is also right by the town. Enjoy outdoor adventures or go fishing on the lake.

The City of Cody celebrated its position by sharing the list on the city website.

Cody regularly appears on lists of the best Wyoming locations.

Over the past several years, several titles and top positions have been bestowed upon Cody.

Surprisingly, Cody was not the only Park County community to make the list. Powell came in at 11th for its affordable housing, low cost of living, and “strong artists’ community.”
