Cody Senior Center Announces COVID-19 Policies
Written by Andrew-Rossi on March 20, 2020
Temporary but essential changes to operations have been announced at the Cody Senior Center.
In order to protect those in our community most vulnerable to COVID-19, The Center has already cancelled social activities and events until further notice, and Thrift Barn has also been closed until the national emergency passes. Only those seniors with critical need doctor visits will be transported by Senior Center Staff and vehicles. They are also adding store pick-up and delivery at Albertsons, Walmart, Coe Regional Pharmacy and Walgreens so seniors can receive groceries and medications that do not require a signature. All orders MUST be paid for in advance.
Seniors can still receive meals during these emergency closures. Front door and curbside pickup are still available in lieu of the usual dining room experience. You don’t need to call in advance to reserve a meal, just drive through. Only a check or exact change can be accepted for meals. Otherwise, please continue social distancing for the safety of yourself and others.
Volunteers and donations are highly sought after during this critical time. And the Senior Center assures everyone that these measures, like those across Cody, are only temporary until the COVID-19 virus threat as subsided, and hopefully sooner rather than later.
