Cody Stampede Wins Award at National Finals Rodeo, Las Vegas

Cody Stampede Wins Award at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas

Written by on December 27, 2022

The Cody Stampede Board was awarded “Rodeo Committee of the Year” by the Xtreme Bulls during the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas earlier this month.

This award is voted on by the 50 bull riders representing the PRCA. Voting factors include the quality of stock, prize money awarded, the grounds/facilities of the host community, and the Committee’s professionalism and hospitality.

The Cody Stampede Board has hosted Xtreme Bulls in Cody since 2007, a wildly popular sell-out event held in conjunction with Bullfighters Only during the annual Cody Stampede. This next summer it will be held on June 30, 2023.

The 2022 summer featured the 103rd annual Cody Stampede Rodeo and celebrated the freedoms Americans enjoy while honoring first responders, cancer survivors, active duty military members and cherished veterans. There was an all-star ensemble of talent from the livestock to the contract workers and entertainers, including the following:

  • John Harrison – 2022 PRCA Comedy Act of the Year, 2022 PRCA Coors Man in the Can, and 2022 PRCA Clown/Banelman of the Year.
  • Cody Webster- 2022 Bullfighter of the Year
  • Frontier Rodeo – 2022 Stock Contractor of the Year
  • Boyd Polhamus – prior 4 time Announcer of the Year
  • Dusty Tuckness – 10 time Bullfighter of the Year, 2022 NFR Bullfighter & 2022 Lane Frost Award recipient
  • Nate Jestes – prior 4 time WNFR Bullfighter

2023 is looking to be another great rodeo season with the 104th Cody Stampede, Xtreme Bulls and the 85th year of the Cody Nite Rodeo. Next year’s professional rodeo will feature stock contractor Frontier Rodeo, Announcers Boyd Polhamus and Kade Rogge, Sound Contractor Drew Taylor and Bullfighters Cody Webster, Nate Jestus and Dusty Tuckness.

The Clown/Banelman will feature Matt Tan, the WNFR 2022 Nominee for Comedy Act of the Year and the alternate Banelman for the WNFR.

The Cody Stampede Board is pleased to announce that Mo Betta Rodeo Company, owned by Maury and Nikki Tate, will be returning for their 19th year as the Cody Nite Rodeo Contractor. The Board will continue its current leadership with Chad Ball as President and Justin Lundvall as Vice President.
