Cody VA Clinic Offers New Benefits

Written by on December 11, 2017

The new Veterans’ Clinic in Cody has been up and running for over a week now, and the operations director says that the response from veterans and the community has been overwhelmingly positive.
The clinic, which replaces the one that has been in Powell for the last 18 years, is housed in a formerly empty steel sided building on Rumsey Avenue next to Wells Fargo. The newly-renovated facility holds several exam rooms, a fully functional lab, and tele-medicine capability. Operations Director Toni Durrance says that the new clinic offers primary care, as well as referrals to other providers – but the tele-medicine technology means that local veterans don’t have to leave the area to be seen by specialists.

Durrance points out that in order to use the facility, veterans must register for their VA benefits – but once that is in place, the clinic is just for them. No civilians can access the care at the new Veteran’s Clinic.

Durrance says that the clinic staff includes a full time primary care doctor, an RN and an LPN, a front desk person, and a lab tech, and she says a nurse practitioner will be joining the clinic soon. Durrance adds that they are in the process of recruiting a licensed social worker.
Veterans can make appointments by calling 307-587-4015.
