Commissioners Declare Flood Disaster

Flooding in Park County last month has prompted a disaster declaration from the Park County Commissioners.
At their meeting on Wednesday, Commissioners signed a declaration that requests assistance from the State to compensate for damage done by flood waters between June 3rd and June 15. Homeland Security Coordinator Mart Knapp says the flooding affected roads and bridges throughout the County.
Knapp adds that repair work has already been completed on some of the damaged infrastructure, while other work is waiting until the rivers go down.
Knapp says the declaration will next go to Governor Matt Mead for his approval, and if he approves, the request will go to the Federal Emergency Management Agency in the hopes for reimbursement.
