Construction Delays to Begin on Chief Joseph Highway

Highway improvements are scheduled to resume this week on the Chief Joseph Scenic highway.
Wyoming Department of Transportation resident engineer Todd Frost of Cody said Oftedal Construction of Casper will begin stockpiling rock chips for the upcoming chip seal throughout the project area this week. He says delays will be minimal, and traffic will be controlled by flaggers.
However, delays will be longer beginning the week of June 12th, when the contractor will begin fog sealing the shoulders of the highway and chip sealing. Delays of up to 20 minutes are expected on the project during these operations, which will last about two weeks, depending on weather.
Frost adds that when the chip seal is completed, the contractor will complete work on the Pat O’Hara Creek bridge near Wyoming 120. The contract completion date is June 30.
