Coronavirus cancellations! What’s next?
The panic over the sudden spread of the coronavirus to the US has caused a flurry of event cancellations: schools, sports, March Madness, Broadway shows, Disneyland, even European travel. Closer to home, University of Wyoming has extended its spring break by a full week and all school state tournaments, in sports and other events like speech and debate, have been cancelled without a rescheduled date announced.
There’s only two major events to change on your calendar currently: this Saturday’s SpinCody and next Saturday’s Soroptimist Wine Tasting have been postponed in response to the virus. Otherwise, its business as usual. Lacey Nelson performs at the Chamberlin Inn today at 6 pm, local auditions for the Wild West Spectacular will be held at the Cody Theatre from 5:30 to 7 pm. On Saturday, auditions for Cody’s Got Talent will be held at the Cody Cattle Company from 10 to 6, and the Buffalo Bill Center of the West hosts Caribbean Nights at 7 pm.
Next Monday’s Cody Club Roundtable is also scheduled as planned. Ironically, it was already going to be a Cody-specific discussion on the coronavirus with community leaders and the Park County Department of Homeland Security. If you have any questions or concerns, that’s the venue to learn the facts.
Stay tuned to KODI for more cancellations as they roll in.
