East Entrance Closed

Written by on November 2, 2017

Thanks to the current weather pattern, the East Entrance to Yellowstone has closed.
The closure comes at an inopportune time, as this weekend, November 4-5, provides the last chance for visitors to drive to many iconic locations in Yellowstone. The West, South, and East Entrances and all roads, with one exception, will close to vehicle travel for the season at 8 a.m. Monday, November 6, so the park can prepare for snowmobile and snowcoach travel. Those opportunities will open Tuesday, December 15.
However, the road from the park’s North Entrance at Gardiner, Montana through Mammoth Hot Springs to the park’s Northeast Entrance remains open all year, weather permitting.
