Blood Drive Monday and Tuesday in Cody

Written by on November 2, 2017

Donors are once again needed for the upcoming Cody Blood Drive at the VFW Monday and Tuesday.
Joshua Randall with United Blood Services out of Billings says that out of the 135 donor appointments available for Monday’s schedule, only 80 of those spots are filled. On Tuesday, November 7th, less than half of the available slots have been reserved.
Randall says that although many people were inspired to donate blood after the Las Vegas attack a month ago, those blood reserves will soon expire, because he says blood is only good for 42 days – so fresh donations are necessary to keep blood banks viable.

Additionally, Randall is asking for volunteers to spend an hour on Monday and an hour on Tuesday to help setup and tear down the blood drive. Duties for volunteers who would be available Monday morning include picking up food from Albertsons and West Park Hospital, setting up the refreshment table and helping to prepare the registration desk. Volunteers who help to tear down Tuesday afternoon would put away leftover supplies and draw names for winners of giveaways.
