Eddie Van Halen Passes Away at Age 65

Legendary guitarist Eddie Van Halen lost his battle with throat cancer today at the age of 65.  He will be remembered for his impact on rock music and his unforgettable guitar riffs.

This story was first reported on by TMZ.  According to their sources, Van Halen passed away at St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica California.  He had been quietly battling throat cancer for quite some time and in the last 72 hours prior to his death, his condition significantly worsened.

Despite battling throat cancer for many years, he still continued to perform and follow his passion.

Eddie is survived by his wife Janie, along with their song Wolfgang.
