A workshop is being held today in Cody that promotes the importance of shooting sports.
The Wyoming Top 100 Shooting Competition, an initiative of the Wyoming Game and Fish Department, is part of a larger effort to promote shooting sports across Wyoming. Representatives from the Governor’s office, the Wyoming Game and Fish, the National Rifle Association and Wyoming’s firearms industry will be attending today’s workshop at noon at the Cody Shooting Complex, but all shooters are welcome.
Nephi Cole, Policy Advisor for Governor Mead, will be attending today’s event. He says the Governor supports the competition because it aims to improve access to the shooting sports.
Cole says this is the first year that the Wyoming Top 100 event is being held. He says Governor Mead is promoting the event because shooting sports and outdoor recreation are among key sectors in Wyoming’s economic diversification efforts.
