Expect Delays in Yellowstone

Written by on July 6, 2018

If you’re headed into Yellowstone, be prepared for significant delays.
Drivers through the Park are reporting delays of up to 45 minutes, due to the high volume of vehicles being stopped at construction areas.
Park officials report that 30-minute delays are to be expected at the Fishing Bridge construction site, as well as in the Norris to Madison area. Additionally, motorcyclists are warned that the construction zone from Roaring Mountain to Willow Park includes sections of unpaved roads, so they may consider using an alternate route.
Night closures are also in place from Norris to Mammoth from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m., so Dunraven Pass has been designated the detour during those closures.
Another construction project that impacts visitors is the Canyon Overlooks and Trails Restoration Project, which is closing off some destinations in the Canyon Village area.
Next week, crews will be chip sealing in the Lamar Valley from the Northeast Entrance to Tower Junction – 30 minute delays are expected in that work zone through July 27th.
