A Flood Warning continues for south central Big Horn County due to an ice jam.
The National Weather Service says the flood warning remains in effect for the Big Horn River between Manderson and Greybull at least through Wednesday morning.
According to the Big Horn County Sheriff’s office, the river rose slightly yesterday compared to the day before, and ice jams continue to form and move near Manderson.
The Sheriff’s office says that they will continue monitoring the river and upstream ice jam movements today. Additionally, citizens are urged to update their contact information at town hall so they can be informed immediately if there is a flood emergency. The platform used by the County is called Cloudspeaker/ Blackboard, and communicates emergency information via text message, voice messages, or emails.
Contact Town Hall at 307-765-9431 to update your information, or if you have any questions.
