Written by on August 1, 2018

A former student at Northwest College who was arrested after he had a package of heroin mailed to the campus has been placed on supervised probation.
22-year-old Jonathon R. Chevrier was the target of an extensive investigation by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation last year, and was arrested in April after trying to pick up a package on the Northwest College Campus that contained heroin that he intended to sell.
According to an article in the Powell Tribune, Chevrier’s plea deal was finalized at the end of June with the Park County Attorney’s Office. He pleaded guilty to a felony count of attempting to possess a controlled substance with intent to deliver. He was sentenced to five months in jail, with credit for time served, and placed on supervised probation. Another four to six years of prison was suspended, provided that he successfully completes the probation.
District Court Judge Bill Simpson accepted the plea deal on June 29.
