Gas Prices Rising Significantly

Written by on May 30, 2018

Average retail gasoline prices in Wyoming have risen almost ten cents per gallon in the past week.
Statewide gas prices were averaging $2.88/g yesterday, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 494 gas outlets in Wyoming. Gas stations in Cody have well exceeded that price, ranging from $2.94 at some stations to $2.99 at the top of the Greybull hill. The Conoco in Greybull is still running lower than the state average at $2.86 per gallon, and Lovell is even lower at $2.82.
Prices this week are almost 56 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago and are 28 cents per gallon higher than a month ago. However, Patrick DeHaan, head of petroleum analysis for GasBuddy, predicts that that gas prices will be moving lower this week and perhaps into next week. But he warns motorists that the fall in gas prices will be slow to arrive at some stations and quick at others, so before filling up, check if you’re getting the best deal in the area.
