Governor Mark Gordon made a quick appearance in Cody yesterday morning as part of a ceremony that honored military veterans who were not “welcomed” back home after their service.
At the event yesterday morning, Gordon spoke about his family’s ties to the military, including quotes from his cousin, George Patton the 4th, and spoke of his pride to be the governor in a state that honors its military.
Gordon was accompanied at the event by the chairman of the Wyoming Veteran’s Commission, Keith Davidson, and the newly appointed adjutant general for the Wyoming National Guard, Major General Greg Porter. Other speakers at the ceremony included Cody Mayor Matt Hall, and representatives from each of the members of the state’s Washington delegation.
Following the ceremony in Cody, the dignitaries flew to similar events in Casper and in Cheyenne.
