Grant Will Fund New Cath Lab

Cody’s health care options are about to become wider for patients who are in need of critical cardiac treatment.
Cody Regional Health, in partnership with the Billings Clinic, announced this month that they are the recipients of a $1.5 million dollar grant to outfit a new state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization laboratory in Cody. The grant from The Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust makes it possible to acquire the newest x-ray systems and other needed technology for the cath lab.
Cody Regional Health CEO Doug McMillan says the new facility will be one of the country’s very few cath labs – if not the only – located in a critical access hospital.
According to a news release from Cody Regional Health, the new Cath Lab will make it possible for doctors to perform life-saving diagnostic and surgical procedures, including cardiac catheterizations, pacemaker placements, and defibrillator placements using the newest technologies.
