Written by Andrew-Rossi on March 10, 2020
Almost a year to the day since the groundbreaking, the date for the ribbon cutting at Gunwerks has been set.
Gunwerk’s new 44,000 square foot, $6 million dollar facility is materially finished, minus some final modifications. Local contractor Sletten Construction has led the year-long effort to build the firearms manufacturing facility which has been funded through a combination of loans and grants. The company will create 66 positions averaging over $60 thousand dollars per year by 2025, and invest slightly over $5 million in equipment for the facility over the next five years
The date of March 16th has been chosen for the official ribbon-cutting. As part of the festivities, Forward Cody CEO James Klessens has invited the entire Cody community to join the celebration of the new business that has brought and will continue to bring jobs and industry to Cody. Governor Mark Gordon, Secretary of State Ed Buchanan, Treasurer Curt Meier and Auditor Kristi Racines will all ben in attendance during the event.
The ribbon cutting for the Gunwerks facility will commence at 4:30 pm at 201 N. Blackburn Street. For more information Contact James Klessens at the Forward Cody office 587-3136
