Habitat’s Women’s Build Day Saturday
Written by Andrew-Rossi on May 17, 2018
Women, pick up your hammer proudly.
That’s the message being urged by Mountain Spirit Habitat for Humanity director Jaime Schmeiser. She’s inviting women to participate in this Saturday’s Women’s Build Day at the Habitat site in Cody.
Schmeiser says that by participating in the construction of the home that’s being prepared for Cody resident Kira Schoonover and her young daughter, women will not only boost their own self-confidence, but they will be helping to empower others as well.
The Women’s Build Day began as a partnership between the national Habitat for Humanity organization and Lowe’s, but Schmeiser says that they’ve branched off on their own for this event. Anyone willing to pick up their hammer can contact their office at 307-271-1879 or just show up for the event at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, May 19th. Lunch will be provided.
Schmeiser adds that anyone who wants to help, but can’t participate that day, can contact her office for other volunteer opportunities, including a renovation in Powell and help at their two retail stores.
