Hayden Fire Burns in Yellowstone

Another fire is making its presence known in the region – this one is in Yellowstone.
Smoke from the lightning-ignited Hayden Fire may be visible from the Grand Loop Road between Canyon Village and Mud Volcano. The fire is very small at this point – just a tenth of an acre as of yesterday morning, according to Park officials.
A fire lookout on Mount Washburn spotted the fire yesterday morning, which park managers say does not pose a threat to visitors. All roads leading into and through the park are open, but if fire activity increases, more information will be announced.
This is the first fire in the park this season. Last year, eight fires burned less than 1 acre in total.
