Hazardous Waste Disposal This Weekend

Written by on September 12, 2017

Do you have unwanted hazardous materials hanging around in your garage or shop, but you’re not sure how to best dispose of them?
This weekend is your chance to get rid of those oil bottles, paint cans, car batteries and other household toxins for free. The cities of Cody and Powell are hosting free pesticide and household hazardous waste collection days Friday and Saturday.
In Powell, the Weed and Pest Building will be collecting materials from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Friday. On Saturday, the Cody Recycling Center will be available to drop off those materials from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The disposal program is offered free of charge, and no questions will be asked regarding the materials. The operation is a joint venture with Park County Weed and Pest; the Park County Landfills; and the cities of Cody and Powell.
A brochure with a complete listing of materials that are allowed can be found on the City’s website, or on the Big Horn Radio Network’s news page at mybighornbasin.com.
