How to Have a “Miracle Morning”
Written by Wendy Corr on April 10, 2017
How many of you just roll out of bed every morning, mindlessly going through your morning routine and grabbing a cup of coffee to wake you up as you head out the door? Would you like to put more MEANING in your morning? I’m Wendy Corr, and today’s wellness tip is a true life SAVER.
There’s a lot of advice out there on the internet. Ways you can manage your time, ways you can improve your mood, ways you can improve your health… but recently I’ve implemented a routine that can improve your MORNING, which then affects everything else!
It’s called the Miracle Morning, and was created by a young man named Hal Elrod. His story is pretty amazing, and I urge you to look him up, but let me give you the basics of how just doing a six-step routine every morning can make a huge difference in your day!
The acronym Elrod uses is called SAVERS.
The first S is for Silence. Spend a few minutes just sitting in prayer or meditation, to relax your mind and body and focus on the moment, rather than considering the stress of the day.
The A is for Affirmations. These are statements that you write that remind you of your potential, your priorities, and your gifts.
V is for Visualization. Close your eyes and imagine what your life will look like when you’ve accomplished your goals and are comfortable with yourself and your life.
E is for exercise. Spend a few minutes doing jumping jacks, pushups, anything that will get your blood pumping and your brain engaged.
R is for reading. Invest a few minutes of your morning in a personal development book. Just 10 pages a day will make a huge difference in your focus and your motivation!
And the final S is for scribing. Take a few minutes to write in a journal what you’re grateful for, what you’re proud of, what you’re committed to achieving.
I encourage you to look up Hal Elrod’s Miracle Morning and see how it improves your focus, your outlook, and your day!
