Written by on January 2, 2020

Its hunting permit season!

Today opens the state resident application period for several of Wyoming’s hoof stock. Anyone hoping to hunt deer, pronghorn, elk, bighorn sheep, moose, and mountain goat can now submit their applications to Wyoming Game and Fish. The application period extends until January 31st. This same application period applies for spring turkey hunts

Game and Fish’s website also lays out the application periods for other in-state permits. Bison permits will be accepted starting March 2nd. April Fool’s Day is also the opening for permits on several Wyoming birds – sandhill crane, springer pheasant, glendo pheasant, and fall turkey. The application period for trapping fur-bearing animals such as beaver also opens on April 1st, 2020.
