Klingbiel Found Guilty

After less than two and a half hours of deliberation, a 12-person jury in Park County found a Wapiti man guilty of first-degree murder.
77-year-old Dennis Klingbiel Friday was found criminally responsible for the death of his wife, Donna, on August 5th, 2018, at their home west of Cody. The prosecution had argued that the shooting of Donna Klingbiel was deliberate, and had occurred after the couple had disagreed about the division of assets.
The 12-person jury came to their decision Friday afternoon at the Park County Courthouse, after four days of testimony and arguments from Park County’s special prosecutor, Mike Blonigen, and Klingbiel’s team of defense attorneys.
A sentencing date has not yet been determined.
