Written by on May 24, 2021

The Lady Warriors Girl’s Soccer team went into the Wyoming 3A State Soccer Tournament as the West Conference’s 3rd seed.

They would face the East Conference 2nd seed. The Buffalo Lady Bison.

The Lady Bison finished the regular 9-3-1 and had won 8 of their last 9 including 4 in a row.

Worland would get the win 2-0 and would get a Semi-Final match-up with the Cody Fillies.

Playing Cody for the third time in the 2021 season the Lady Warriors weren’t able to overcome the Fillies to get a shot at the State Title.

At South Cheyenne High School for an 11am match with a team that beat them a few weeks before the Mountain View Lady Buffalos. The Lady Warriors wanted to win.

With 33:14 left in the first period on a cold, balmy, overcast day the Lady Warrior’s Freshman Forward Yahira Aguayo would score from a Kylie Warren assist.

Senior Captain Logan Yule would go down midway through the second half. The Lady Warriors changed. “Let’s do it for Logan.” Senior Captain Kylie Warren would recall of the sidelines.

“She’s the best Captain I’ve ever had.” Head Girl’s Soccer Coach Danielle Warren would say of Logan.

It was the spark the Lady Warriors needed. Again Freshman Yahaira Aguayo would add a score. The last score of the game.

The Lady Warriors would right the wrong from the earlier season loss to Mountain View and win 3rd Place at the Wyoming 3A Girl’s State Soccer Tournament 2-0.
