Lady Warrior Volleyball Start Season Strong

The Worland High School Volleyball team started the season a week later than most High Schools in Wyoming.

The first matches were played last week in Cody at the Montana/Wyoming Boarder Wars.

Worland went 2-2 over the tournament and in the losses took 2 of Montana’s top teams to 5 sets.

The Lady Warriors got wins against Custer County (Miles City, MT.) 3-2 and Park High School (Livingston, MT.) in straight sets 3-0.

Billings Central, 2021 Montana Class A Volleyball State Champions, beat Worland 3-2. Central went 3-1 in the tournament with their 1 loss to Cody.

Worland lost to Laurel, 2021 Montana Class A Girl’s Soccer State Champions, 3-2. Laurel went 5-0 at the tournament.

The Cody Fillies won the Boarder Wars, Laurel finished second in the tiebreaker. Laurel went 5 sets with Worland and Cody won all matches in straight sets.

The Lady Warriors are headed to the Rawlins’ invite Friday and Saturday.

Day 1 is pool play, Worland is in Pool A with Moorcroft, Rawlins, and Lander.

Pool B: Glenrock, #5 Wheatland, #4 Powell, and #1 Lyman.

Pool C: Buffalo, Torrington, Lovell, and #2 Mountain View.

Pool D: Newcastle, Douglas, Thermopolis, and #3 Pinedale.

Worland will play Lander first the tournament begins at 12 noon and is on a rolling clock from there.

The Lady Warriors will play Moorcroft and Rawlins on Friday.

Day 2 is Bracket play. The top two finishers will be in the Gold Bracket, the bottom two finishers are in the Silver Bracket.
