Large Item Pickup Begins Thursday

Written by on October 29, 2018

Each year the City of Cody schedules a large item pickup and tree and brush removal time. That program begins this Thursday, November 1st, and will continue through March 31st.
City officials say the Large Item Pickup program was enacted in 2008 to allow more time for the Public Works and Parks Departments to begin making necessary spring repairs, as well as time to work on larger projects that can only be done during the warmer summer months.
To request a pickup of items that cannot be placed inside a dumpster or a rollout, residential customers may call the City at 587-2958 or 527-7511. Large item pickups will be scheduled on Thursdays, and tree and brush pickups will be scheduled on Mondays, and each resident will be allowed one pickup per month, per address.
While many communities offer similar services to keep their community clear of unsightly items residents are unable to haul to the landfill, including cities such as Denver, Helena and Bozeman, a fee is often assessed with these services. However, the City of Cody does not charge for this program.
Officials say the goal of the program is to help keep alleys and streets free of unsightly debris, as well as to provide a helpful service to City residents.
