Man Trapped In Ditch Rescued

Written by on May 2, 2018

The Cody Fire Department, Ambulance Service and local law enforcement officers all responded yesterday afternoon to a report of a man trapped in a ditch in the Trailhead Subdivision.
The call came to dispatch around 2:30 yesterday afternoon, when neighbors say a man who was digging a ditch with a backhoe went down into the ditch and it collapsed on him.
Cody Police Lieutenant Jason Stafford told KULR-8’s Penny Preston that all emergency responders worked together to get the man out alive.

Preston shared that the volunteer firemen worked for nearly an hour to free the victim, using shovels to pull buckets of dirt out of the ditch. The victim was taken by ambulance to Cody Regional Health Hospital.
