Toys for Tots, in partnership with Midway Auto & RV and Walmart, held a toy drive outside of the Walmart in Cody on Saturday, December 3rd, 2022. The goal was to fill the trailer, donated by Midway Auto & RV for the event, with as many toys as possible.
The basic mission of the Marine Toys for Tots Program is to “collect new unwrapped toys and distribute those toys to less fortunate children at Christmas,” their website states.
The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) not-for-profit public charity that was created by the U. S. Marine Corps in 1991.
Nick Marting of Toys for Tots in Wyoming said this about the event, “We’re over at Walmart and we’re going to try to fill this trailer from Midway with as many toys as we can and help out all the needy children in the Bighorn Basin and in Park County.”
The Foundation of Toys for Tots says their objective is “to help less fortunate children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas; to play an active role in the development of one of our nation’s most valuable resources – our children, to unite all members of local communities in a common cause for three months each year during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign, and to contribute to improving communities in the future.”
