Mule Deer Killed by Poacher

Game and Fish officials are searching for a poacher who killed a mule deer buck, taking its head and leaving the carcass behind.
Game warden Grant Gerharter found the animal last week south of Cody in Deer Hunt Area 113, and believes the deer was illegally shot the evening of October 13th. Deer season on private land in that area does not open until November 1st.
Game and Fish is looking for help from the public to provide information that could help solve the case even in terms of if any suspicious vehicles or activity was seen. Anyone with information on this incident is requested to call the Cody Game and Fish office at (307) 527-7125. Callers can remain anonymous and a reward of up to $5,000 may be paid for information if it leads to arrest and conviction.
