Musician, singer, song-writer, and animal activist, Lacy J. Dalton will be performing at the Colonel this Saturday, October 28th.  She appeared on “Mac In The Morning” on KODI and spoke about her long-spanning and successful career, how she got into music and mused on “what could’ve been” if she signed a record contract with Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger.

Born into a musical family, Lacy said she didn’t pick up the guitar until she was 18, and that was out of necessity because she was performing in high school.  Her father, a skilled musician in his own right, taught her a few chords and she was on her way to write songs for a legendary careers.  She’s had an envious career, meeting legends like Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, and Waylon Jennings.  Lacy credits the influences of  Bob DylanJoan BaezKris KristoffersonGuy ClarkWaylon JenningsWillie NelsonDolly PartonJanis JoplinRobert JohnsonKaren DaltonFred KollerBig Mama ThorntonBillie HolidayHank WilliamsTammy Wynette

Besides being a talented artist, Lacy has become an animal activist, focusing on the preservation of wild horses which roam near her ranch outside of Virginia City, Nevada.
