“Mustang Days” Has a Few Changes

Written by on June 29, 2018

It’s Mustang Days in Lovell – but the community’s celebration will have a few changes from previous years.
Chairman of the celebration, Nicole Hendershot, told the Lovell Chronicle that a notable difference this year is that there will not be a fireworks show, as Chris Good, who has traditionally provided the spectacle, has ended his longtime role as the fireworks coordinator. However, Hendershot said that as a replacement activity, the Mustang Days Committee is planning an outdoor family movie night Saturday at the practice field next to the Lovell High School Gym. The movie “Night At The Museum” will play for a suggested donation of a dollar per person.
Another new event is an obstacle course race at the new Club Dauntless just west of town. That event will run from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. tomorrow afternoon. Other activities during the weekend’s celebration include a three on three basketball tournament, a fun run and car show, and an open house at the Masonic Lodge.
This year’s parade theme is “Running With the Mustangs,” a nod to the 50th anniversary of the Pryor Mountain Wild Horse Range.
