New Evidence Introduced in Murder Case

Written by on January 31, 2019

New evidence is being presented in the case against a Wapiti man accused of killing his wife in August.

Dennis Klingbeil is charged with the first-degree murder of Donna Klingbeil. According to an article in the Cody Enterprise, the state intends to introduce evidence that Klingbiel threatened malice to not only his wife, but other family members over the years.

Donna Klingbiel’s son, Brad Lanken, told investigators that his mother had threatened to turn her husband in to the IRS in the week before the murder for shorting her a half million dollars from the couple’s financial trust. Additionally, new evidence shows inconsistencies in Klingbiel’s explanation of the shooting.

Previous domestic disturbances involving firearms are also being entered into evidence by the prosecution.

Klingbiel’s trial is set for March.
