No Decision from DOT yet for Essential Air Service

The United States Department of Transportation has not yet named the winning bidder for Essential Air Service for the Cody area.
Yellowstone Regional Airport Manager Bob Hooper says that the board expects to hear from the Department of Transportation any day. The board had recommended to the DOT that Delta’s Skywest remain the carrier, based on the reliability of the air service and the community’s displeasure with United Airlines, the other bidder for the federal grant. Hooper says the new contract will begin March 1st of 2018.
Yellowstone Regional Airport is seeing other changes, however. The restaurant on site will see a change in vendors – again. For the fourth time in the last few years, a new company will be taking over the kitchen and dining area. This time, it’s a familiar name for Cody residents.
HOOPER YRA RESTAURANT
Jeannette Prosceno is the owner of Annie’s, and Hooper says she will be in operation sometime next month. He noted that YRA leases the location to the operator of the restaurant, as well as kitchen equipment and furnishings, but adds that all the details have not been worked out yet.
