No Go for the Rodeo – Cody Nite Rodeo’s June 1 Opening Cancelled After Wet Weekend
Written by Andrew-Rossi on May 31, 2022
The weekend’s wet weather has the Cody Rodeo Grounds stuck in the mud, so the Cody Nite Rodeo’s opening night has been pushed to Thursday, June 2.
The Cody Night Rodeo is ready to begin its 84th season in Cody. Unfortunately, that beginning will be at least one day later than anticipated.
The Cody Stampede Rodeo announced the cancellation of 2022’s opening night- June 1, 2022 – via Facebook.
Traditionally, the Cody Nite Rodeo begins on June 1 and continues until August 31. Unfortunately, Cody Stampede Rodeo Board Member Justin Lundvall says Memorial Day weekend’s rain has made the rodeo grounds muddy and unsafe for performers and animals.
Hopefully, warmer temperatures and sunny skies on Tuesday and Wednesday will be enough to dry out the rodeo grounds for the new opening date, set for Thursday, June 2.
Anyone with tickets for the June 1 opening night can call the Cody Stampede Rodeo office at (307) 587-5155
