Now You Know: China Testing Jet Engine Fast Enough to Fly Anywhere in 2 Hours

It seems like we are truly living in the future and the future of air travel continues to advance at quite a fast rate.

Chinese scientists have built and tested a jet engine that is capable of reaching Mach 16 speeds which is the equivalent of 12,275 mph.  They tested out this engine in a wind tunnel and were able to see performance never before seen by other planes.

This jet nicknamed “sodramjet” was capable of reaching speeds 9 times the speed of sound.  These scientists also believe it could reach top speeds of 16 times the speed of sound but this has yet to be tested.

This advancement is cool nonetheless and who knows, maybe 10 years down the road, we might be able to fly around the world in 2 hours.
