NWC Student Killed in Crash

Written by on May 9, 2018

A Northwest College student and two visitors from France are dead following a head-on collision north of Thermopolis yesterday.
18 year old Kolten Scott Moss, who had just completed his first year at Northwest College, was headed to his hometown of Laramie when the crash occurred. At just after noon yesterday, Moss was traveling southbound on Highway 120 in a 2003 Dodge Ram pickup, when it crossed the center line and the northbound lane and went off the road. Moss overcorrected, getting his vehicle back on the highway, but into the path of a 2019 Winnebago Outlook driven by 75 year old Ib Jensen of Cannes, France. Jensen and his wife Elsebeth, 72 years old, died at the scene of the crash at mile marker 26.
The vehicles collided head-on, which resulted in both becoming fully engulfed in flames. Both lanes of traffic were closed for several hours while authorities worked to contain the scene.
This is the 29th fatality on Wyoming’s highways in 2018 – compared to 34 in 2017.
