Parades and Fireworks Round Out Stampede Celebration

Over 120 entries participated in the July 3rd and 4th parades for this year’s Stampede Celebration.
Winners received cash prizes in 13 different categories ranging from patriotic and mounted entries, to staying true to the theme of the parades, which this year was “Buckin’ Through Time.”
Highlights of the parades included the Cody Optimist Club, winning first place in the theme category; the Northern Arapaho Horse Culture entry from Fort Washakie won first in the potpourri category; and Sleeping Giant’s decorated float depicting the zipline and chairlift from the ski area won a first place prize as well.

Sponsors for the fireworks show included the City of Cody, the Shoshone Rec District, the Park County Rec Board, Trail Creek Ranch, Sunset Properties, Wilder Enterprises, the AmericInn Lodge, and Tanager Beverages.
