Park County lawmakers have landed positions on key committees in the Wyoming Legislature.
For the next two sessions, several senators and representatives from Park County have been assigned to positions on the legislature’s education, judiciary, agriculture, and labor committees. That’s according to an article in the Powell Tribune.
The Joint Education Committee will continue to be led by two Park County legislators – Senator Hank Coe of Cody and Representative David Northrup from Powell. Additionally, Representative Jamie Flitner from Greybull will continue to serve on the committee, representing not only northern Big Horn County, but also the communities of Garland and Frannie.
Newly elected Senator R.J. Kost of Powell will serve on the judiciary committee, as well as the agriculture, state and public lands and water resources committee, where he will be joined by Representative Dan Laursen of Powell and John Winter of Thermopolis, who also represents Meeteetse. Also representing Meeteetse is Senator Wyatt Agar of Thermopolis, who will join the appropriations committee.
And Representative Sandy Newsome, who also serves her first term this year, will be on the transportation, highways and military affairs committee as well as the travel, recreation, wildlife and cultural resources committee, serving alongside Flitner and Winter.
