A Park County man is one of three Wyoming residents to have died in September due to complications associated with COVID-19.
The individual was described as an older person with health conditions that could have put patients at higher risk for serious illness in connection to the coronavirus. He had not been hospitalized for treatment, according to the Wyoming Department of Health.
A Natrona County man was similarly described as older and with health conditions that put him at risk of serious illness. He had also not been hospitalized for treatment.
The third death involved an older man from Goshen County who was hospitalized in another state following exposure to COVID-19 in Wyoming. It is unclear if underlying health conditions were a contributing factor in that case.
An older Park County woman had been living in an out-of-state long-term care facility when she was exposed to the virus and died several weeks ago in an out-of-state hospital.
As of Friday morning, state health officials report 3,936 lab-confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus, 716 probable cases, and 49 deaths since the pandemic began.
