On May 27 one American flag began a 14,000-mile, 100-day journey through the 48 continental United States raising funds for wounded veterans and their families.
It’s called the Patriot Tour™ and it’s presented by the Nation of Patriots™, a national veteran nonprofit organization whose sole mission is to enhance the lives of wounded veterans and their families.
The tour launched on May 27 in Madison, Wisconsin, and will stop in Cody on Monday, June 19 at Beartooth Harley Davidson on Sheridan Avenue.
According to project organizer Bill Sherer, by the time the Tour returns to Wisconsin on Sept. 9th, more than 150,000 riders will have participated in moving the flag city-to-city across the country and back.
This year, the Nation of Patriots aims to raise $200,000 for veterans across the country, and 100 percent of the funds collected are put directly into the hands of veterans in need. To date, the organization has raised and distributed more than $500,000 over the last seven years to numerous families across 21 states.
Riders interested in participating locally or across the country are encouraged to pre-register at www.nationofpatriots.com. Each rider is asked to make a $5 donation that is used to augment funds raised throughout the Tour for distribution to the families of wounded veterans.
