Plan for Traffic Delays for Byron Fireworks Show

Written by on July 13, 2018

Single-lane traffic is expected for several months over the Shoshone River bridge near Lovell.
Traffic delays are expected with the beginning of bridge-widening work over the Shoshone River on Highway 310 and 789 between Lovell and Cowley.
Wyoming Department of Transportation resident engineer Michael Miller of Basin says drivers should expected delays of up to two minutes at the bridge, adding that one-way traffic over the bridge will be in place until about September 1st.
However, Miller said the Shoshone River bridge traffic signal will be turned off from about 10 p.m. this Saturday, July 14, to 12:30 a.m. Sunday to accommodate increased traffic following the Byron Days fireworks show. He says flaggers will maintain traffic after the Byron Days fireworks, but drivers should expect delays of up to 20 minutes that night with the increased traffic volumes.
Big Horn County law enforcement personnel are encouraging drivers to consider alternate routes as they drive to and from Byron for the annual fireworks display on Saturday.
