President’s Supporters Marched Saturday

Written by on March 6, 2017

A group of supporters for President Trump gathered at Cody City Park Saturday to show their support for the current administration.

The rally attracted more than 100 people on a windy day in Cody. The group gathered at the bandshell, milling around and visiting until the program began around 11:30. After listening to several speakers, the group marched down Sheridan Avenue with American flags and signs that had slogans such as “America’s President” and “Make America Great Again.”

Jody Horvath, one of the organizers of the event, said that they chose to put the rally together as a response to the protests that have been taking place since Trump was elected.

Geri Hockhalter also was an organizer of the event, noting the national group Main Street Patriots began the “March 4 Trump” movement. According to their website, their mission is to support President Trump in his effort to put America First. Hockhalter gives Trump credit for what he brings to the office.

While Cody’s rally was peaceful, similar events in larger cities around the country garnered attention due to clashes between attendees and counter-protesters.
