After falling to Helena Tuesday the Yellowstone Quake Hockey team was back in action Wednesday morning for another face-off with the Helena Big Horns. The Quake would rebound nicely from the day before earning a hard fought 4-1 victory.
The Quake would come out firing in the first as Dylan Rumpke and Jack Harris each had goals for the Quake. As a team they took nine shot at the net and led after one period of play 2-0.
The second period was back-and-forth, neither team giving an inch as zero goals were scored. The Quake out shot Helena 14-13 and held onto the 2-0 lead after two periods of play.
In the final period Helena would get on the board cutting the score in half but the Quake would finish the game with two scores in the final ten minutes to pull away for the victory. The Quake only took two shots on the net in the third and scored both times.
Jack Harris led the way for the Quake scoring two goals. Rumpke would add one goal and two assists.
With the win they earn a series split with Helena, improve to 8-15 on the season and have won three of their first five game in the second half.
Up Next: The Quake have ten days off before they’re back in action. They’re back in action Friday and Saturday January 15th and 16th when they welcome the Butte Cobras into the Riley arena for 7:30pm face-offs.
