Reliable Workforce Sought By Local Employers

As summer approaches, the manager of the Wyoming Workforce Services office in Cody says that more businesses are looking for employees – but they are finding it difficult to attract reliable workers.
Donna Lester says that employers are reporting a lack of industrious, committed employees who will show up to work.
Lester and her team led a job fair earlier this month in Cody, and she said every business represented had at least one job opening, and most had several. But she said there weren’t as many people at the fair looking for jobs as they expected to see.
Cody Chamber Director Tina Hoebelheinrich says she has heard from local employers that retention of good employees is an issue that they want to address.
Hoebelheinrich says that in partnership with Forward Cody, they are planning a community assessment this summer and fall to address the issue of a reliable, stable workforce.
