Road Striping Begins Today

Written by on March 21, 2018

Yesterday was the first day of spring, and Wyoming Department of Transportation crews are preparing for the start of the highway striping season in northwest Wyoming.
WYDOT’s urban striping crew is beginning its spring work today in Basin and Thursday in Manderson, according to crew foreman Joseph Keele of Basin. He says that weather permitting, they will be working in Powell, Lovell and Cowley, with hopes to be in Cody by April 1.
Keele offered tips for drivers and citizens who encounter WYDOT striping crews. He urges drivers to decrease their speed, pay attention to the digital message boards that are near the striping operation; remember that paint may be wet; and be aware that the law states that you must slow to 20 mph below the posted speed limit for WYDOT vehicles with flashing yellow lights.
